Weekend, Love it

Saturday was full of gardening mainly by my wonderful Hubby Blake Ridler. He's got talent, not only able to do accounting but he can actually garden, surf and party. Then I was reading for part of it. I even managed to have a day time sleep. Bliss.

Then even fell. I was invited to a hen's night which was an experience. We went on a bus called "The Champagne Bus" It was great. It had lights and a mirror ball, big screen TV, loud music and even a pole dancing pole. http://thechampagnebus.com/

So the bus took us to our destination for dinner which was really good at Southbank Park Lands. We ate at Kapsalis, I had a Lamb Souvla, This was on skewers with Greek salad and Turkish bread with a lovely tzaliki sauce. which I would rate at 3 and 1/2 stars out of 5. The only reason for this rating is because I am not a huge lover of too much tomato and I felt there could have been a little bit more to the Greek salad. (I am sorry if my spelling for the dish is off)

Then the entertainment was great. A couple of the boys that work in the restaurant did a Greek dance then they brought out the belly dancer. She did one performance on her own then grabbed the people celebrating the night for whatever the reason (hen's, birthday, etc) out to have a go at belly dancing. It was great to see that some many people still know how just to let go and have fun.

Then once we had finished with the dinner side of things we were off again all looking very wonderful in our glow in the dark mickey mouse ears to the bus. Who was waiting for our return. Once we were back on the bus that I failed to mention before you are able to drink on, they also provided a esky with ice on board. We headed to Kangaroo Point. We jumped off for a smoke break and to grab a drink to continue on our way when the macarena started up (all planned of course) so all us girls were up against the bus doing the macarena in front of the the passing bye rs.

Kangaroo Point is a lovely spot for all different reasons and fitness levels. You are able to rock climb, ride along, walk along or find one of the great coffee shops. It has a wonderful view for you to take in the city day or night.

Then with fresh drinks in hand we piled back onto the bus and headed to the Story Bridge Hotel. I had not been there before. For me and my stage in life it wasn't really my scene. However there was a large diversity of age groups and a good mix of people in the hotel. With many different bars I am sure it would cater to most peoples wants and needs.

We also had one of the hire Fire fighting trucks turn up at the same time as we did so that was an interesting thing. The hen that I was out with was practically picked up and dips by one of the fire fighters. (young one too) http://www.thehireengine.com.au/index.html

This does make an entrance. However I do prefer the bus as you can fit more people and this on it's own makes it a lot of fun. The story bridge is where I ended my night. Called my wonderful hubby to pick me up and head home, this was only just after 10pm mind you. Most unlike me. I also came home with money which just means that I didn't drink that much. After being sick most of last week and still trying to shake the last of this sickness I thought it better to bunk down and be ready for Sunday.

Today (being Sunday) my most favorite day of the whole week. This is our family day and we enjoy it a whole lot. It doesn't bother if our extended family or friends join us in fact we welcome them to but we always have our little family unit together on Sundays.

So up and out the door by 6:15am to the coast where Paige had her first day with Southport Surf Life Saving (Nippers). Even though the weather was rather average she had a great time. She learnt about water safety and how to dive into the water and to protect your spine.

I am looking forward to seeing how she enjoys the next few weeks. While she was doing her thing Blake and Byron were off playing in the surf splashing each other like crazy, but having a blast. Then while everyone was busy I met up with Seth Daniels his web page is www.seth-daniels.com, however he isn't finished it as of yet. I can't wait to see the finished product. He is going to be working on our site soon. We have been working out a maintenance agreement as well as a new website plan. One thing that is really great about Seth is he is very easy to work with and is willing to work with you on all different levels when it comes to his sites. This is one of the sites that Seth has done http://www.dianerainnie.com/ I am looking forward to working with Seth over the coming months.

After everything at the SSLSC was done we headed down to mermaid where we had a late breakfast and early lunch. We dragged out everything from the car and had a great cook up. Well needed cook up. We also bought some great fruits from Yuen's Fruit and Veg. They have great produce and best of all it is Australian produce.

Yuen's is a bakery that sells Vietnamese pork rolls and if you have never tried one you haven't lived. They are only $6 and I give then a huge 4 out of 5. This is a regular lunch meal for us when we go down the coast. A coast trip just isn't complete without the pork roll experience.

Once we were said and done, we started our drive home, pork rolls in hand and off we went. Arriving home kids tired but full were sent to bed. Then a cup of coffee with my neighbour and then my Dad on his way back from visiting Grandma in hospital. He bought us an apple pie and cream mmmmm yum it was so good. Blake has been doing more gardening. Once everyone had gone Blake and I have been kicking back with a beer and wandering around the garden, taking in all the hard work he had done this weekend and the hard work we have done over the last couple of years to make what we have so far. We do need a heap of concrete so if anyone wants to donate that to us I would love it.

Now what to cook for dinner????
