I do not have any experience in this area other than being a normal every day person. I believe I am over weight. I am 175cm and weigh in at 70kgs. People say that I am not outside my BMI but you know what it’s the fat content that matters. Even if I’m 70kgs and don’t have much fat that would be fine, I do have a fair amount of fat content though.
I am now working on losing some of my waist line, which I have been doing for the last few months. I am feeling better for it and I am sure my body is as well. I have been working out with a friend of mine Alice. We have been doing Yoga, Cycling and Weights.
If you are FAT then this may be hard to read. If this is the case and you can’t hear the truth then you should keep reading because you probably need to hear this and I am not going to apologise. Lets face it if you change your lifestyle you are unlikely to die so young.
If you’re fat stop trying to look for reasons to not do what you really need to do, get up and start walking. So many people keep trying to find medical reasons why they are FAT. Do you know what the medical reason most of the time is? Because you eat too much and don’t do enough exercise.
Now I know most people have no idea how to actually do exercise. For me who has been involved in exercise for nearly my entire life, it’s hard to believe that some people have no idea. So this is how you start:
Make sure you clean out your cupboards and fridges of everything that’s not going to help you lose weight. This is things with high sugar content and carbohydrates. (Pasta, bread, potato’s etc). Also reduce the amount of alcohol you consume.
Set out a routine that you can stick to and make sure you do. There is only one person who can make that decision, and that’s you. No one else is going for force you. Remember this isn’t going to be easy. You are changing your whole lifestyle. This is a good thing. At the moment your hormones are going to be out of balance and your fatty body and brain monster is going to make you hurt a lot. Be like any other athlete, push through the pain barrier.
So what I find is best is working out 4 times per week at least. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. If I feel like doing more then I do, however this is what I make sure I stick to no matter what. Most people are best to start at 3 times per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)
Try and have someone you can workout with. This will help with the motivation. It does need to be someone who is fitter than you so you are pushed instead of saying screw it we will sit and watch TV and have a big drink of sugar while eating chocolate and a packet of chips.
It is also best to workout in the morning. There are many people who debate on when is the best time to workout. My reasoning is very simple. If you workout in the morning then you have no interruptions/excuses. I have found over the years that when I work out at night things happen to stop you from doing the workout. You might be invited out somewhere, family dinners etc. Your body also had to fight harder to repair during the day because you are moving and not sleeping. This means you burn more fat. You will also feel better for the whole day.
OK so you now have a sugar free house. You need to buy things that are fresh. Only eat fresh things. People who are FAT are full of excuses. So get over that. I don’t care if you don’t like fruit or vegetables, get over it and eat it anyway. You can learn to like it. I heard someone once say to me I don’t like water. You know why she didn’t like water? It was because her body craved sugar. Again get over it.
Now that you have set the mornings you want to work out start with a warm up. This is important to do. If you don’t warm your muscles up then you may do damage. Warm up by doing walking, running, cycling or yoga. You can mix it up so each day that way you don’t get bored and if you have a dog this is a great time to take it for a walk. I also know most people who are FAT don’t walk their dogs enough.
Once you have warmed up then it’s time to start doing some weights. This can be done be using items around the house bottle of water, books, tools etc. If you actually have a look around the house there are many items that you can use. Then start buying some weights slowly building your collection. For the actually exercises that you can do have a look on the net.
Go and have breakfast, get ready for work, if you don’t have a job get out of the house and walk, find a job. You also need to take responsibility for your kids. If you don’t make these changes and they are fat you are killing your children.
